Winter Formal 87

Here is our Totally 80s Girl with her High School Sweetheart, Adam Gallagher at their high school Winter Formal of 1987.

As I may of mentioned; Adam developed a crush on our girl here at the final part of their sophomore year of high school. And at the beginning of their junior year in 86 he would leave either a single flower or mix tapes of her favourite songs expressing the love he felt for her on her locker before she would arrive at the beginning of the school day. She would always admire the gifts, but always wondered who they we're from. Until she eventually found out when one of his friends(her study partner in science class) blurred out that it was Adam when she assumed it was him after he had mentioned about it(try to get info if she like Adam or not). So, the next day our girl and Adam approached each other in the halls(after his friend told him he spilled the beans) and then Adam finally has the courage to ask her out on a date. She smiled and said yes. She mentioned that she always though he was cute and had a little thing for him, he couldn't of been more happier to hear all of that. So, after a few dates together he asked her out to the Winter Formal, and again said yes. So, she got her dress, he got a tux and the floral corsage(light pink carnations), and when the night arrived he arrived at her house where he gave her the corsage and took a few pictures before leaving in his 1972 Dodge Dart to the formal. At the formal they where greeted by their friends, took pictures, ate a few cheap snacks and watered down punch, and danced to some of the biggest songs of the decade at that time(before the real hits really cranked out). Now they both sat out a few slow dance songs until finally deciding to do so when the 5th slow dance song of the evening came on(Carrie by Europe). And into the song Adam professed his true feelings towards our girl and then shared their first kiss right then and there. And when the night was still young they(along with their friends) went out to get some real food: cheeseburgers with fries and shakes. And at the end of the night he drove her back home, walked her up to the front door, and kissed her once again and wished each other goodnight. Soon then it lead to more romantic dates together all over their hometown of Los Angeles(mostly parts of Hollywood, The Beach Area, and The Valley), watching the best movies and videos on MTV, and long days and night talking(actual talking) over the phone together.

With all the instant messaging and texting in this time, you forget what it means to be really romantic. To have a true connection with the person your with, to see their face in person, or even hear the sound of their voice. You half to admit, that when you look back on the roots of true romance back then you can't help but think how great it really was, and what the hell has happened now?!
